Final vinegar results and awards are in; vinegars from around the country and throughout Central Coast are among top winners

June 25, 2018 (Paso Robles, Calif.)– The Central Coast Vinegar Competition (CCVC) is proud to announce the award-winning vinegars from its fifth-annual blind-tasting event, held June 21 at the California Mid-State Fair. Best in Show went to Aris Vinegar’s Pomegranate Vinegar (Paso Robles). The honor came after judges awarded it a Double Gold Medal in the Other Fruit Class.

Other Gold Medal recipients include:

• Virginia Vinegar Works’ White Wine Vinegar (Shipman, VA)
• Virginia Vinegar Works’ Red Wine Vinegar – Heritage Blend
• Real Good Vinegar’s IPA Beer Vinegar
• Straw Ridge Natural’s Red Wine Vinegar (Paso Robles)

The Silver Medal recipients include:

• Virginia Vinegar Works’ Red Wine Vinegar – Norton
• Virginia Vinegar Works’ Malt Vinegar
• Straw Ridge Natural’s Rose Petal Vinegar
• Supreme Vinegar’s Blueberry Vinegar (Bensalem, PA)

The judging took place at Estrella Hall on June 21 at the California Mid-State Fair. The panel of judges for the vinegar tasting was led by Chief Judge Tim McDonald of Wine Spoken Here.

“We found it refreshing to see a such complexity and refinement in the vinegar entries this year,” said returning Chief Judge, Tim McDonald, president of Wine Spoken Here.  “Each year this delicious competition gets more and more competitive.”
