The 2018 California Craft Spirits Competition Unveils Winners

The third annual California Craft Spirits Competition showcased a record number of entries, highlighting the quality of the ever-growing California distilling movement.

June 25, 2018 (Paso Robles, Calif.)– The California Craft Spirits Competition (CCSC) is proud to announce the award-winning craft spirits from its third-annual blind-tasting event, held June 19 at the California Mid-State Fair. The complete list of Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners, is now available here.

Best of Show went to Re:Find’s Limoncello (Paso Robles), after winning a Double Gold Medal and the Best Fruit Liqueur award.

The Best of Class winners:

“It seems that each year, the submissions get better and better,” said returning Chief Judge, Tim McDonald, president of Wine Spoken Here. “The American craft distilling movement is big and still gaining steam and these entries prove that California is a leader.”

The competition took place at June 19 at Estrella Hall at the California Mid-State Fair. The panel of judges blind-tasted 51 entries in the different classes of craft spirits, awarding gold, silver and bronze medals and afterward, the Best of Show was chosen.

“We are glad to see how the California Craft Spirits Competition continues to display and promote the exciting and fast-growing California craft distilling movement,” said California Mid-State Fair CEO, Michael Bradley. “Join us on Sunday, July 22 for Get Crafty Mixology Contest and Tasting – to taste how our local mixologists use these award winning products.”

Get Crafty pairs award-winning distillers with mixologists to create a cocktail of their choice. This two-hour festival is a great way to experience the California distilling movement. Tickets now available for sale.
