CENTRAL COAST WINE COMPETITION ACCEPTING ENTRIES

PRESS RELEASE FOR APRIL 23, 2010 PASO ROBLES, CALIFORNIA

The Central Coast Wine Competition announced today the opportunity to submit entries online. The CCWC team strongly encourages wineries to take advantage of this new opportunity.   Wineries can fill out the official forms at the following website http://cmsfw.fairmanager.com. The last day to enter online will be June 1, 2010.  As in years past, entry forms can still be sent in the mail.  The 2010 Entry Book can be downloaded here.  Hard copies will be mailed to wineries that have entered in 2009.

The CCWC has experienced many new changes this year.  From the expansion of the growing region to the collaboration of  four  California Fairs, the competition has grown into a major competition for Central Coast wines. The different divisions  and classes range from sparkling wine categories to a blended red wine category. All official rules and guidelines will be explained thoroughly in the entries booklet.

The Entry Book also has all the information for entering the Central Coast Olive Oil Competition.   New in 2009, this endeavor proved to be a successful marketing tool for local olive oil producers.  “We were thrilled to celebrate agriculture in a new way on the Central Coast of California”, noted Vivian Robertson, CEO of the California Mid‐State Fair.  “The response from the olive oil producers was overwhelming, from the number of entries to the daily sampling during the fair, the fairgoer was treated to a new experience at the fair .”

The CCWC judging will take place on June 17th and 18th at the Paso Robles Event Center.  A full list of judges is available on the blog or the CCWC Facebook page.  For further information refer to our new wine blog at centralcoastwinecompetition.wordpress.com.
